#2 High Point 8, #1 Rowan County 3 (Series tied 1-1)
#2 Union County 1, #1 Randolph County 0 (Union leads series 2-1)
Post 45 got out of a one out, bases loaded jam in the bottom of the first inning allowing only one run to score
but that was enough as Union County pitcher Austin Martinez and his defense shut down Randolph County's offense for seven innings.
Keaton Hill pitched a complete game for Randolph and took the loss. Hill allowed just 2 hits, 3 walks and 2 hit batters while striking out four.
The only base runners for Post 45 were Hudson Deel and Jackson Hill who reached on back-to-back Union errors in the fifth inning.
July 15, 2026 - Wednesday Result
LEGION BASEBALL PLAYOFFS Area 3 Semi-Finals (3 of 5)
#2 Union County 8, #1 Randolph County 2 (Game 2)
Union jumped out to another lead, 4-0 after two innings, and held on to even the series with Randolph at one game apiece.
In the bottom of the fourth, Caleb Coggins drew a walk, Kyle Dillow reached on an error and Sam Gore walked to load the
bases with one out. Poe drove in Coggins with a single and Lucas Connor drew a walk to drive in Dillow for Randolph
County's runs. Post 45 totaled 4 hits with singles by Connor, Poe, Coggins and Brady Armfield.
Jake Riddle, Tate Andrews and Dillow split time on the mound with Riddle taking the loss.
Games 3 and 4 in the best-of-five series will be played at Wingate University. If a fifth game is
needed it will be at McCrary Park Saturday afternoon.
July 14, 2026 - Tuesday Results

#1 Rowan County 5, #2 High Point 4 (Game 1)
#1 Randolph County 10, #2 Union County 9 (Game 1)
Post 45 managed another come-from-behind at McCrary Park with what turned out to be the
winning run scoring in the bottom of the fifth inning against Union County.
Lucas Connor doubled in Jake Riddle to cut Union's 2-0 lead in half in the third but the visitors scored 5
in the top of the fourth for a 7-1 advantage at the midway point.
Same Gore hit a 3-run home run in the bottom of the fourth to make the score 7-4 and Randolph County added 6 more runs
in the fifth with a 2-rbi double by Tate Andrews and rbi singles by Ashton Poe and Riddle. Gore picked up an rbi on a fielder's
choise and Connor drove in the tenth run with a ground out.
John Kirkpatrick earned the win in relief of starter Sean Jennison. Kirkpatrick gave up 2 runs on 1 hit
and 4 walks with 5 strikeouts in 3.2 innings.

Tanner Marsh (AHS '23) was selected by the Athletics in the ninth round of the Major League Baseball draft over the weekend.
The Liberty University shortstop has started every game of his college career and has been among the leaders in numerous offensive and defensive
categories for the Liberty program, Conference USA and NCAA baseball. He is the 2026 CUSA Player of the Year and CUSA Defensive
Player of the Year. He was also named to the NCAA Division I All-Region Team for the Atlantic Region.
